On 25 March 2025, the Friends of Funds knowledge and business network will be holding a panel discussion in Zurich on the topic of ‘Collective investments in the service of financial retirement provision’.
Armin Jacobi (Managing Director of Averroes Concept Lounge GmbH) will lead the discussion, which will cover topics including the demographic challenges in pension provision, innovative products, concepts from abroad and aspects of the next reform.

The future of retirement provision is also a current topic in Germany. The former German federal government was planning a reform of private pension provision, the central element of which was to be a retirement savings account, a new variant of Riester savings. In its legislative draft of 23 September 2024, it followed the recommendations of the focus group on private pension provision that it had commissioned.
The reform has been postponed following the collapse of the ‘Ampel’ coalition. In a statement, the fund association BVI argues in favour of the new government swiftly following up on the reform plans.
